Ingredients


For white sauce:
  • 1 tbsp flour (maida)
  • 1 tbsp butter (it is in equal proportion to flour,can be taken more/less as per taste)
  • 1 cup milk (both the ingredients can be varied as per person)
  • Pinch of black pepper powder
  • Pinch of herbs (optional)
  • salt to taste
  • grated cheese 2 tbsp  (optional)
Consistency of white sauce should be like mayonaise.
For toast:
  • 8 slices of bread
  • 1 cup of equally chopped vegetables - capsicum, par cooked corn (can also take baby corn), cabbage, and onion as per wish
  • grated cheese 

Directions

For preparing white sauce:
  1. Heat butter in a pan and when butter is heated, add flour into it. Cook the flour till it starts smelling.
  2. Add milk, little at a time and keep stirring on adding milk, so that lumps are not formed in flour.
  3. Add salt and pepper powder, grated cheese and a pinch of herbs if you like.
  4. Allow it to cook until this mixture looks shiny (due to butter).
For preparing toast:
  1. Toast the bread slices slightly (as the will be toasted again with the veggies).
  2. When the sauce has cooled (room temperature), add the chopped vegetables in it.
  3. Now spread the vegetables and sauce on bread toast, grate cheese on top, and toast it  till the cheese melts.
  4. Serve with ketchup alongwith cold drinks.
