Ingredients
For white sauce:
- 1 tbsp flour (maida)
- 1 tbsp butter (it is in equal proportion to flour,can be taken more/less as per taste)
- 1 cup milk (both the ingredients can be varied as per person)
- Pinch of black pepper powder
- Pinch of herbs (optional)
- salt to taste
- grated cheese 2 tbsp (optional)
Consistency of white sauce should be like mayonaise.
For toast:- 8 slices of bread
- 1 cup of equally chopped vegetables - capsicum, par cooked corn (can also take baby corn), cabbage, and onion as per wish
- grated cheese
Directions
For preparing white sauce:- Heat butter in a pan and when butter is heated, add flour into it. Cook the flour till it starts smelling.
- Add milk, little at a time and keep stirring on adding milk, so that lumps are not formed in flour.
- Add salt and pepper powder, grated cheese and a pinch of herbs if you like.
- Allow it to cook until this mixture looks shiny (due to butter).
- Toast the bread slices slightly (as the will be toasted again with the veggies).
- When the sauce has cooled (room temperature), add the chopped vegetables in it.
- Now spread the vegetables and sauce on bread toast, grate cheese on top, and toast it till the cheese melts.
- Serve with ketchup alongwith cold drinks.
